  • How early should I reserve a portable toilet?
As a rule of thumb, it is best to book your Porta Potty rental at least one week in advance. However, we understand that you may not always be able to do so and are still happy to help accommodate last-minute reservations. Just bear in mind that during our busiest times of the year–usually warmer months–inventory for portable restrooms, restroom trailers or temporary fencing may be limited. If your project or event is on a large scale, even more lead time is advised so that we can evaluate your needs properly, assign rental assets and deploy resources to your site promptly. To get started today, please call us at (985) 632-5592 or fill out our online form.
  • What is the cost to rent a portable toilet?
To calculate the total rental price for Porta Potties, consider how long your event will be. Will it span hours, days, weeks, or months? The amount of time attendees will use the unit(s) directly impacts how many you should order. Generally speaking, units for weekend events are delivered on a weekday leading up to the date and picked back up on a weekday after the event has concluded. At an additional cost, we offer weekend delivery, service or pickup. Upgrades, like flushing toilet restrooms or restrooms with sinks will be at a higher rental rate than basic Porta Potty rentals. Depending on the size of your public event, A.D.A accessible restrooms might also be required . On construction job sites, the restrooms must follow A.N.S.I." requirements for how many toilets are needed on site; however, if there is only one portable toilet at a location, then that restroom needs to be 5% accessible according to Americans with Disabilities Act standards.
  • Do you offer one-day rentals?
Our portable toilets are the most popular choice for weekend or one-day parties. However, we have many other options available for rent with the ability to only renting for just one day as well. To ensure that you secure your desired portable restroom and allow for an ample delivery time, it is always best to call at least one week prior to your event.
  • Are there guidelines for A.D.A. restrooms?
United Site Services' portable restrooms are wheelchair accessible and compliant with the 'Americans with Disabilities Act'. They have been created to fit the standards outlined by the ADA in order to be used on construction sites, commercial areas, or for special events. According to the statute, at least one portable toilet unit must be 5% accessible by those with disabilities at each location whenever typical inaccessible units are provided. These accessible units shall also be identified by the International Symbol of Accessibility. Here is an excerpt from the Federal Register relating to 4.1.2 Accessible Site and Exterior Facilities: New Construction relevant to portable restrooms: "The exception is that if portable toilet units are used exclusively by construction personnel who do not require the use of an A.D.A unit, you are not required to comply with this statute." (Federal Register/Vol. 56, No 144/July 26, 1991/Rules and Regulations) For more information about A.D..A guidelines as they relate specifically to portable restrooms, please contact our office or view our Regulations page on our website.
  • If my portable toilet gets tipped over, what happens?
If you have the misfortune of your porta-potty being tipped over, please immediately reach out to our office. We will send a driver to assess and take care of the situation as soon as possible. To avoid any future incidents, we recommend signing up for our optional damage waiver program.
  • Do you have a damage waiver option?
The 'damage waiver' is an optional service we offer at Joe's Septic that significantly reduces the amount you would have to pay for damages resulting from accidents, vandalism or weather related problems.
  • How do you clean your portable toilets and how often?
The average service frequency for a porta potty is twice per week to accommodate 8 people. The routine weekly service will maintain sanitation and include restocking supplies. For the same experience as other public facilities, it's recommended that you schedule servicing more than twice a week.
  • Once the sewage is pumped, where does it go?
In compliance with all local and state regulations, the waste from your portable restroom will be taken to a nearby wastewater treatment facility.
  • How do you stop water from freezing in the tanks in colder temperatures?
In order to keep the water from freezing and solidifying in our tanks during a freeze, we can mix an eco-friendly anti-freeze with the deodorizing water. This compatible fluid works to prevent freezing during colder temperatures. All of the products that we use are compatible with our waste water facilities.
  • Is there a way to reduce odor and germs within the portable toilet?
Not only do we pump your holding tank and clean the inner bowl of your unit, but we also provide meticulous janitorial services both inside and out. Our employees clean and sanitize the portable restrooms at each service, washing them with soap and water. We also add a special detergent to the water which acts as both a sanitizer and deodorizer - keeping the unit smelling great while reducing exposure to germs.
  • Where will you drop off my portable restroom?
We will do our best to accommodate your wishes and place your portable restroom at your event or job site as per your instruction. However, for safety reasons, we must keep the unit readily accessible for servicing and thus might have to relocate it. This is to ensure that our trucks, employees and equipment are not put in danger.
  • If my portable toilet is in an area with a lot of wind, what do I do?
We offer uniquely designed stakes that fit securely over the four skids on each side of the unit, anchoring it securely to the ground. This eliminates the risk of your portable restroom being tipped over in areas of high wind.
  • Do I need to have a portable toilet on my job site?
For construction sites, it is typical for city ordinances to require at least one portable restroom. This is because ANSI (The American National Standards Institute) suggests having 1 porta potty per every 10 people on a job site during a regular 5-day workweek that lasts 40 hours. If food will be served at an event, sometimes Event planners will also require portable hand washing stations in addition to the restrooms.
